Professional Experience

2001 – till date : Professor, Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET), Hyderabad, AP

Carrying out academic work along with administration. Held appointments as Head of Department, Vice Principal and presently holding the appointment as Principal looking after the overall administration of the academic environment at GRIET, established in 1997 and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.

1976 – 2001 : Officer of the Indian Air Force

Commissioned into technical branch of the IAF in January 1976. As a technical officer, associated with the maintenance activities of a variety of IAF's fighter aircraft, aero engines and support systems and asset management, retired as Wing Commander in 2001.
Held appointments at various levels involving all the aspects of management of the force in terms of maintenance, design and development, production, operations, administration and training.

1988-1991 Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Air Force Technical College, Bangalore Visiting faculty for Gas Turbine Technology Course – a fellowship course for Scientists of DRDO, at Institute of Armament Technology, Pune.
1992-1994 Combustor Group, Gas Turbine Research Establishment, Bangalore
1994-1997 Team Leader, Indian Air Force Training Team of officers and men to Botswana to impart training to the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) on maintenance and operations.
1997-98 Staff Appointment at Command HQ, IAFCEO (Chief Engineering Officer) of a transport base with fixed wing aircraft and helicopters
1998-2001 Senior Engineer(Aircraft), Fighter Training Establishment, IAF
2001-2003 Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering, GRIET

Winner of Roy Fedden Memorial Prize at CIT, Cranfield, UK, 1984
Recipient of Chief of Air Staff Medal by the Indian Air Force, 1990
Won the second prize for an essay on Productivity - a nationwide open essay competition conducted by Botswana National Productivity Centre, Botswana, 1996
