Bhanu Kalyan K was awarded the Best Computer Science student award for the year 2003-2007 by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) during 2nd state annual convention on February 23, 2008.

During undergraduation, he was also selected as a candidate (one among 40 students nation wide) for Microsoft Research India Summer School organized at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. In addition to this, he has participated in 25 technical events nation wide, mainly paper presentations, including two international conferences, IEEE Indicon, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy, NIT Surat, NIT Rourkela, BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad, JNTU Hyderabad, JNTU Kakinada, JNTU Anantapur, CBIT, SNIST, GRIET, MJCET, NBKRIST, RVR & JC, MVSR, VNRVJIET, JBIET and more. Altogether, he won seventeen prizes including nine 1st prizes, six 2nd prizes and two 3rd prizes.

Currently, he is enrolled as a graduate student in Computer Science at Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA.
